Just like Modern Warfare 2<\/em>, Call of Duty: Black Ops<\/em><\/a> will be available in two special editions — Hardened and Prestige — when the game ships on November 9th. Official prices haven’t been given, but retail listings set the two SKUs at $80 and $150, respectively. Those are the same prices as MW2<\/em>, in case you were wondering.<\/p>\n

If you ask me, the Black Ops<\/em> Hardened Edition is a slight downgrade from MW2<\/em>, containing a collectible medal with display case, a SteelBook case, an Avatar outfit, and four exclusive co-op maps. That’s opposed to MW2<\/em>, which came with an art book and a download code for Call of Duty<\/em> remastered in HD.<\/p>\n

However, the Black Ops<\/em> Prestige Edition, which also includes all content from the Hardened Edition, definitely trumps MW2<\/em>‘s, swapping out the night vision goggles for a fully functional RC surveillance car with an on-board camera and microphone capable of transmitting audio and color video back to the remote’s 2″ backlit TFT 220 x176 color screen from upwards of 200 feet away. The RC-XD is modeled after the one featured in the game’s online multiplayer.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Black Ops<\/em> Hardened and Prestige Editions will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 only. Standard editions will be available for DS, PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.<\/p>\n
