<\/a>Inevitably, as with all highly anticipated title, someone will break street date. Usually it’s the mom and pop store down the street, however in today’s case it was Wal-Mart slipping a Guitar Hero II<\/i> end cap onto the floor when no one was looking. Luckily a tech-savvy gamer caught this early sighting of GH2<\/i> and snapped the picture you see on the right. Reports claim that not many stores broke street date, and those that did were only selling the bundled version of the game that comes complete with a guitar controller. If it’s not too late, try giving your Wal-Mart a call to see if they have any of this elusive query.<\/p>\n

Intrigued by these developments, I called my local Wal-Mart to see if they had any copies on sale. The conversation went a little something like this:<\/p>\n

Me: “Hi, I was wondering if you had any copies of Guitar Hero 2 available.”
\nWal-Mart Clerk (WC): “Actually, we’re all sold out.”
\nMe: “Really, you’ve sold all of your copies of Guitar Hero 2?”
\nWC: “Yes, we sold them all a few weeks ago.”
\nMe: “Hmm. I find that interesting since the game hasn’t really come out yet. I was only calling because other Wal-Mart stores around the country have begun selling them and I wanted to know if you had done the same.”
\nWC: “Well, I don’t have anything like that on the floor right now.”<\/p>\n
