Xbox 360 Elite $100 Price Drop Confirmed

Wow, Microsoft sure didn’t waste any time responding to Sony’s big PS3 Slim and price cut announcement last week. To avoid the PS3 actually being cheaper than the Xbox 360 for the first time ever, Microsoft today announced a similar $100 price cut on the Xbox 360 Elite.

Beginning tomorrow Friday, August, 28, the Xbox 360 Elite will retail at a new low price of $300, just like the new PS3 Slim. The Xbox 360 Pro has also had its price dropped from $300 to $250, but it’s being phased out so that price will only last until current supply runs out. Then you’ll be left with one of two choices: the $300 Elite or the gimped $200 Arcade SKU. Both great values, though now the Arcade seems more pointless than ever to me.
