Slated for a July 20th launch on PSN, Young Thor is a 2D beat-’em-up action-adventure designed exclusively as a PlayStation mini title for PSP and PS3. Watching the new gameplay trailer, the only way I can think to describe the game is to call it a side-scrolling God of War — only it’s based on Norse mythology instead of Greek, and it’s cute and cuddly instead of obscenely violent and vulgar. Anyone else getting that vibe, or am I just crazy here?
Examining the trailer with a more critical eye, the hit detection does appear to be a bit off to me. But overall I’m thinking Young Thor will be $5 well spent when it drops in a couple weeks. I’m looking forward to giving it a whirl.
